Hello All,
I have a Windows 10 laptop on which I use the TrendMicro Maximum Security product. I used the Folder Shield feature to protect some folders (on the D: drive) against unauthorized changes. The contents of those folders show a lock icon next to each filename to show me that they are protected (*encrypted) by FolderShield.
Now, I had to reformat the C: drive and to reinstall the Windows 10 from scratch. I can access the files on the D: drive, but I cannot open the files that were previously protected by the FolderShield of the previous installation. When I try checking the file ownership properties' I get a message saying that the file cannot be decrypted.
What can I do to access my previously FolderShield protected files? I reinstalled my TrendMicro Maximum Security product and re-associated the new Windows installation with my TM license.
Thank you in advance for your help.
