Product - Trend Micro VPN (Windows)

After installing Trend Micro VPN, it appeared to run fine for approximately 8 hours (including some time away from my computer) but after approximately 8 hours, while the VPN was active, my internet connection 'stopped' (internet connection was completely unresponsive and would not load anything). And since, while having my VPN active, my internet connection is totally unresponsive.
Looking at the troubleshooting guide; the only 'security apps' i have installed are 'Trend Micro Maximum Security (windows)' and 'Windows Defender'.
I have tried all three of the VPN protocols, and none of them have worked.
I have tried connecting to both Australian and New Zealand VPN servers, and neither has worked
