It seems like AI can do everything that humans can, both good and bad things.
This technological masterpiece can do incredible things such as understand and create human language, analyze visual information, learn from data and get better over time, control machines and equipment to work on their own, personalize experiences for people, make decisions without human intervention, play games, improve its performance, and predict future events or trends. With so many capabilities, AI is a powerful tool that can help us or destroy us.
Take ChatGPT, for example, it's a powerful natural language processing tool. Its usage is limitless, from answering questions to writing an article or even a book. However, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. Recently, the chatbot was used to write malicious codes, viruses, and phishing emails. It's as easy as 1-2-3 for scammers to create more phishing emails and cyber threats. Don't get me wrong, it's a very helpful tool if you're not using fake ChatGPT apps and websites.
#LilyCollinsHack: accounts compromised by fake ChatGPT apps
Recently, the hashtag #LilyCollinsHack broke social media. Almost 4 million Facebook users were affected and got hacked. Their names and profile pictures were changed to look alike the actress Lily Collins’s account. Victims were tricked into downloading fake ChatGPT apps that were disguised as Chrome extensions. The scammers use fake ChatGPT apps in order to steal personal credentials.
