Can you help me to understand why I continue to get an alert about my connection being unsecure when I have told it that I trust the connection, AND I am using a VPN tunnel to mask my connection and protect me anyway.

It minimises what I'm doing every 20 seconds and puts an alart dialog, regardless of what app i use. And its nothing to do with shopping or banking.  So what is its issue?.

Here's what's happening: Trend Micro Mobile Security's Wi-Fi checker monitors your connection continuously for security risks. Even if you've marked a network as trusted, certain conditions (such as network configuration changes, DHCP renewals, or the app re-evaluating the connection state) can trigger the alert again.

Regarding your VPN — while a VPN does add a layer of protection, the Wi-Fi alert is generated at the network level before the VPN tunnel is fully evaluated by the app. The feature is designed to warn about the underlying network properties (e.g., lack of encryption, open network), regardless of whether a VPN is active on top of it.

To reduce the frequency of these alerts, you can try the following:
1. Open Trend Micro Mobile Security and go to Wi-Fi Checker.
2. Re-add the network to your trusted list if it was removed after a reconnection.
3. If the alerts persist every 20 seconds, please check that you're running the latest version of the app, as this sounds like it may be an abnormal alert loop that we'd want to investigate further.
