When you tap Allow now, Android hands you off to its own permissions screen rather than confirming inside the app. Web Guard needs to see which page your browser is loading before it can block a dangerous one, and only Android can grant that access. The list of apps you're seeing is the confirmation screen — you just need to tap into your app rather than look for a button at the bottom.
Here's what to do:
- On that app list, scroll down and tap Mobile Security (not just the checkbox — tap the app name itself).
- On the next screen, turn the toggle at the top ON, then tap Allow or OK on the confirmation prompt.
- Tap the back arrow twice to return to Mobile Security. Web Guard should now show as active.
On Xiaomi phones specifically, HyperOS sometimes blocks the toggle the first time. If it won't switch on, go to Settings > Additional settings > Accessibility > Downloaded apps > Mobile Security and enable it there. You may see a security warning — tap OK, and if a countdown appears, wait for it to finish before confirming.
It's also worth adding Mobile Security to Settings > Apps > Manage apps > Mobile Security > Autostart, and setting Battery saver to No restrictions. Xiaomi is aggressive about closing background apps, which can switch Web Guard back off later even after you get it enabled.
