parental controls not working

I have parental controls set to custom and have certain topics and websites blocked, mainly news sites to stop me soom scrolling. Upon initially setting up parental controls and adding blocked websites, it was successfully blocking them but after an hour I am able to access the sites. In my mobile security app it says parental controls are on and my list of blocked sites is still there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Mobile Security app and reconfigured my parental controls. It was successfully blocking the sites again for about an hour but is now back at the same issue and not blocking the unwanted sites.
