Hello,

You can follow the steps below to speed up your computer:

1. Restart Your PC Regularly
  • A simple restart clears temporary files and memory leaks.

2. Disable Startup Programs
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Task Manager → Startup tab.
  • Right-click and Disable programs you don’t need at startup (e.g., Spotify, Zoom, etc.—but leave security apps enabled).

3. Uninstall Unnecessary Apps
  • Go to Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
  • Remove programs you don’t use to free storage and background processes.

4. Run Disk Cleanup
  • Type Disk Cleanup in the Start menu.
  • Select drive C: → check Temporary files, Thumbnails, Recycle Bin → click OK.

5. Check for Malware
  • Run a full scan with Windows Security or Trend Micro (if installed).
  • Malware can hog system resources.

6. Update Windows & Drivers
  • Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.
  • Keep your system and drivers up to date for performance and stability.

7. Adjust Visual Effects
  • Right-click This PC → Properties → Advanced system settings → Performance Settings.
  • Select Adjust for best performance (or custom: disable animations/shadows).

8. Free Up Storage
  • If your disk is almost full, Windows will slow down.
  • Move large files to an external drive or cloud storage.

9. Check for High Resource Usage
  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
  • Check CPU, Memory, Disk usage.
  • Identify and close apps using too many resources.

10. Upgrade Hardware (if possible)
  • SSD (Solid-State Drive): Biggest speed boost for older PCs.
  • RAM (Memory): At least 8 GB recommended for smooth performance.
