I am now running 11.8.1283 and the updater is working perfectly fine now.  Thank you all for fixing it.

I am also running the latest version (11.8.1242), but after installing MacOS Sequoia, Trend Micro will suddenly crash whenever I click the "Update Now…" button.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but the same issue occurs.  I hope the Trend Micro team will be able to fix it soon.
