  • RE: Webguard VPN causes WiFi to drop out on my Apple iPad Mini 7 (iOS 18.3).

    Hi,

Try the following steps in order:

    1. Restart your device and router

      • Power off the iPad and your Wi-Fi router for 1–2 minutes, then power them back on.

    2. Reinstall the Trend Micro VPN profile

      • Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN

      • Delete the Trend Micro VPN profile, then open the Trend Micro Mobile Security app to re-enable Web Guard.

      • This will reinstall a fresh VPN configuration.

    3. Update Trend Micro app

      • Go to the App Store → Profile icon → Updates and make sure Trend Micro Mobile Security is up to date.

    4. Disable “Private Wi-Fi Address” (for testing only)

      • Go to Settings → Wi-Fi → (Your Network) → Private Wi-Fi Address → Off

      • Test if Wi-Fi remains stable with Web Guard enabled.

    5. Reset Network Settings

      • Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPad → Reset → Reset Network Settings

      • Reconnect to your Wi-Fi and test again.

    6. Check for iOS updates

      • Go to Settings → General → Software Update to ensure you’re on the latest iOS version.

  • RE: Add another device for spouse

    Hello,

It depends on your subscription plan. If your subscription covers three devices, you can install it on additional devices at no extra cost. However, if your plan is limited to one device, you will need to purchase a new subscription for any additional device.
  • RE: Mobile app keeps stopping popup

    Hello,

ScamCheck Mobile App (Android / iOS)

The mobile version of Trend Micro ScamCheck does not function primarily as a pop-up blocker. Instead, it offers other key protections such as:

Web Guard — blocks unsafe websites and scam-related ads while browsing

SMS Filter — filters spam texts via keywords, sender types, and more

Call Block — blocks spam calls in supported regions

Scam Radar / Scam Check / AI Video Scan — threat detection across messages, links, calls, and media

Web Guard will intercept scammy sites and ads, but it doesn’t serve as a general pop-up blocker like the browser extension does.

  • RE: slow computer

    Hello,

You can follow the steps below to speed up your computer:

    1. Restart Your PC Regularly
    • A simple restart clears temporary files and memory leaks.

    2. Disable Startup Programs
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Task Manager → Startup tab.
    • Right-click and Disable programs you don’t need at startup (e.g., Spotify, Zoom, etc.—but leave security apps enabled).

    3. Uninstall Unnecessary Apps
    • Go to Settings → Apps → Apps & features.
    • Remove programs you don’t use to free storage and background processes.

    4. Run Disk Cleanup
    • Type Disk Cleanup in the Start menu.
    • Select drive C: → check Temporary files, Thumbnails, Recycle Bin → click OK.

    5. Check for Malware
    • Run a full scan with Windows Security or Trend Micro (if installed).
    • Malware can hog system resources.

    6. Update Windows & Drivers
    • Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.
    • Keep your system and drivers up to date for performance and stability.

    7. Adjust Visual Effects
    • Right-click This PC → Properties → Advanced system settings → Performance Settings.
    • Select Adjust for best performance (or custom: disable animations/shadows).

    8. Free Up Storage
    • If your disk is almost full, Windows will slow down.
    • Move large files to an external drive or cloud storage.

    9. Check for High Resource Usage
    • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
    • Check CPU, Memory, Disk usage.
    • Identify and close apps using too many resources.

    10. Upgrade Hardware (if possible)
    • SSD (Solid-State Drive): Biggest speed boost for older PCs.
    • RAM (Memory): At least 8 GB recommended for smooth performance.
