To optimize Trend Micro software for better performance on your desktop PC, you can follow these steps:

1. Suspend computer notifications: Enable Mute Mode in Trend Micro to prevent less important pop-ups from appearing on your screen. Open Trend Micro, click on the Device tab, and then click Configure beside Mute Mode. Toggle the switch to ON. You can also terminate other apps to reduce CPU and memory consumption while in Mute Mode.

2. Scan and Optimize: Run the PC Health Checkup feature in Trend Micro to scan your PC and get recommendations for improving performance. Open Trend Micro, click on the Device tab, and then click Start beside PC Health Checkup. Once the scan is finished, follow the suggested improvements such as reducing startup time, regaining disk space, and removing duplicate files.

3. Make It Automatic: Turn on the Smart schedule feature in Trend Micro to let the app scan your PC when needed. Open Trend Micro, click on Settings, then click Security & Tuneup Controls > Scheduled Scans. Put a check beside Conduct a scheduled scan of the computer and choose Smart schedule.

Apologies for the late response.

One alternative we could pursue regarding this concern is to add your program/file to the exception list. At that moment, Trend Micro won't be able to detect your program and interfere with it. You may check this link for the full instructions.

Regarding your feedback, it appears that the feature will remain unchanged. As "Protect against virus and spyware" constitutes the main functionality of the program, it is crucial to require a password to activate the action when turning it off. While it is true that if no password is set for the main console, you can simply exit the program, it will automatically be turned on once the device is rebooted, as it is listed among the device's startup apps.

• Error message when trying to access the app:

For a while you may try to add the app on the exception list of our program. This is a temporary solution so that you are able to use it while Trend Micro is turned on to your device as the app will no longer be check by Trend Micro when added to the exception list.

I'm sorry that this happened. 

Please be guided that Mobile Security's Web Guard and VPN app uses a local Virtual Private Network, or VPN on your device. With this, they are complicating to each other and will causes some performance issue. 

It is based to use one at a time.
